![]() ![]() Your character starts off sans clothing (don't worry, you're not forced to see anything you wouldn't want to see), and as you travel about the land, you pick up pieces of equipment and add them to your arsenal. ![]() Beyond that, the game has thus far managed to stand on its own aside from any story-based events - a surprising turn of events!Īs things start off, some wizard guy creates you (possibly of the elements - I'm not sure at this point), and once you've given yourself a name, you take control of the proceedings. Of course, there's much more to the story than that, but it seems that you won't need to be a massive fan of the animation in order to follow the proceedings in the game, since they're only loosely related to one another. I do know the basic idea behind the story, though: good versus evil, and good wins. ![]() Now, I'm not exactly up to date on the whole Lodoss War chronicles, although the DVDs stare me in the face every time I go home. It looks good, controls well, and, once we get a chance at the final, may end up doing justice to the animation that inspired it. I was expected the worst, but it turns out that Record of Lodoss War on the Dreamcast is anything but garbage, so far at least. a popular Japanese animation being brought to game form by that power house of game development Kadokawa Shoten (points for detecting the subtle hint of sarcasm in the above), and being released by the spotty at best ESP. So a few weeks before the Tokyo Game Show, ESP decides to announce the development of Record of Lodoss War for the Dreamcast. ![]()
